David Neil Parsley

August 10, 1959 ~ March 18, 2017 (age 57)

David Neil Parsley, age 57, formerly of Charleston, WV, passed away unexpectedly and way too soon on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at his home in Morgantown, WV.

Born August 10, 1959 in Charleston, he was the son of the late Carlos Milton Parsley, II and the late Naomi O'Dell Parsley.

Survivors include his two children, son Derek Parsley and his girlfriend Katie Coblentz of Morgantown, WV and daughter Andrea Parsley of Phoenix, AZ; six siblings, Judy Newman and her husband James of Advance, NC, Dawnzelle Duckwyler and her husband Mark of South Charleston, WV, Jeff Parsley and his wife Kelly of Zanesville, OH, Chris Parsley and his wife Debra of Charleston, WV, Cathy Hunter of St. Albans, WV and Scott Parsley of St. Albans, WV. Uncle "Dave" is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, who he loved and adored, as they did and still do him. David is also survived by many friends, including life-long friend of whom he considered a brother, Mike McKeny of Teays Valley, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carlos Parsley, III and nephew, Jason Parsley.

David was a U.S. Marine Corp veteran and a proud American. He was a die-hard Mountaineer fan who bled blue & gold. He was a virtual encyclopedia of knowledge related to many things. David loved sports, music and the outdoors, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends. His quick wit and sense of humor (sometimes warped) kept all entertained. He will be sadly missed by many.

Semper Fi and fly high Freebird!

A service celebrating his life and legacy will be held this Saturday, March 25 from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Charleston Moose Lodge #1444, 2805 Kanawha Blvd East, Charleston, WV 25311. Wearing your favorite Mountaineer gear is encouraged!
