Donald Lee Jamison, Jr. (DL), age, 71 of Southport, NC (formerly of Morgantown) has passed away Friday, April 19, 2019 at Lower Cape Fear Hospice, Bolivia, NC, with his devoted wife Rhonda by his side.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Donald L. Jamison, Sr, and Kathirene Ruble Jamison, and sister Sally Gerrard.

DL was born October 14, 1947 in Morgantown, WV, was a 1965 graduate of Morgantown High School, and attended Potomac State, before entering the Army and tour of duty in Vietnam from 1967-1968, he completed his service in Fort Benning, GA after Vietnam.  While in the service he received the National Defense Service Medal, and the Service Medal with two Bronze Stars, and the Vietnam Campaign Medal with Service. DL was a member of the Osiris Temple of Shriners, Wheeling, WV starting in 1983.

He worked as a Snap-On Sales representative in Morgantown for several years before retiring to Kitty Hawk, NC and later Southport, NC.  He enjoyed the beach and traveling with his wife Rhonda and their dog Jazmine and late beloved dog Zoe. DL was an avid golfer and loved being out on the golf course any chance he could.  He also was a Mountaineer fan and watched all games and used to attend all bowl games and games at the old and new Mountaineer Field.

Survivors include his wife, Rhonda Michelle Jamison; his children, Stacy Beth Jamison (Mike Rogers) of Shinnston, WV, Derek Sean Jamison (Kelli Jamison) of Sabina, OH, and stepson Clark David Hall (Elyse Coen) of Morgantown, WV; grandchildren including  Alexandra Kief and Andrew Kief of Morgantown, and Victoria Jamison, Karsyn Jamison and Colt Jamison all of Sabina, OH); step grandchildren including: William Coen (Jenni Williams) of Atlanta, GA, and Adrienne Coen (Isaac Layfield), and Bryce Coen all of Morgantown;  and his step great- grandchildren including Liam Coen of Atlanta, GA, and Jaxon Layfield, and Isla Layfield  both of Morgantown, WV. He is also survived by sister-in-law Marla Harriman, nephew Jason Gerrard, and many cousins whom he adored.

Friends may join DL’s family to honor his life and legacy at Greater Love Family Outreach Ministries, 275 Canyon Road, Morgantown on Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 10:00 am until the time of memorial service which will be celebrated at 11:00 am. with Pastor Junius Lewis presiding.  The service will conclude at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, South Pierpont Road, Morgantown, where Full Military Honors will be accorded at the graveside.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Operation Cherry Bend (www.operationcherrybend.org) in Wilmington, OH, or Lower Cape Fear Hospice, or the Parkinson’s Foundation,
