On Friday April 5, 2019, Jimmie Everett Kiser, loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away at the age of 68.

Jimmie was born on January 18, 1951 in Bishop, Virginia to the late Ross and Georgia Kiser. He was a coal miner and worked in the coal industry for 45 years and had a great passion for Safety and Mine Rescue.

The last 25 years of his mining career he served as a Safety Director and Trainer. He was an avid Mountaineer football fan attending the home games in his RV to tailgate with family and friends with many times giving his ticket away to a stranger he had just met so they could enjoy their first mountaineer football game. He also enjoyed and had a talent for repairing/fixing cars, boats, RV’s, lawnmowers, etc., frequently using duct tape or black vinyl tape from the mines. And, during mine rescue season he loved and supported the Central Appalachian Mine Rescue Team by traveling to all the contest to watch them compete.

He is preceded in death by his late wife Wanda Kiser; five brothers, Raymond, Paul, Kenny (Shop), Ross Jr., and Daniel Kiser; one sister; Louise Weaver; and son-in-law, Gerald Decker.

Left to carry on his legacy are his three brothers, Ronald (Janice-Wife), Roy (Retta-Wife), John (Vicki-Wife); two sisters, Effie and Faye Krain (Mike – Husband); his loving fiancée, Rebecca Farley; his children; daughter Vikki Goldberg and husband Alan, and son Jimmie Kiser, II and fiancée Emma Lawrence, Rodney Farley and wife Sheila, Chris Farley and wife Beth, and Nick Farley and wife Brooke; the greatest joy of his life - his grandchildren; Taisha Decker, Rayvin Decker (fiance' Miguel Diaz), Preston Decker, Selena Taylor, Jonathan Hindre (Johnny), Laney Farley, Addy Farley, Cami Farley, Aiden Farley, Kade Kiser, Karson Kiser, Kash Kiser, Karalyn Kiser, numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces; and his favorite Mine Rescue Team; Pat White-Captain, Jeremy Jones-#1 Gas Man, John Quick-Map Man, Alan Larderi-#2 Gas Man, Derick Sizemore-Tail Captain, Robert New – Briefing Officer, Jimmie Kiser, II- Vizio , Rodney Blankenship-Alternate, Andrew Mullins-Alternate, David Goad and Tom Canterbury – Trainers.
