Louise Maset Minnich, formerly of Clarksburg, and most recently of Morgantown passed away Tuesday afternoon, August 27, 2019 at Sundale Nursing Home in Morgantown at the age of 80 after a very courageous fight against the effects of a stroke she suffered nearly three years ago.
Born January 10, 1939 in Fairmont, she was a daughter of the late August and Virginia (Coldebella) Maset.
Louise is survived by her daughter, Lori Minnich Plum, her husband Kenny and their son Max, all of Morgantown; two sisters, Helen Tonkovich of Farmington and Josephine Burdoff of Fairmont; a brother-in-law Julian Pitman of Enterprise, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years, Henry David Minnich on March 17, 2016; and her siblings Angeline Pitman, Patricia Tennant, and Louis Maset.
Weezie was an absolute die hard Mountaineer Basketball Fan and adored Bob Huggins. While in Clarksburg, she was a member of the Duff St. United Methodist Church where she served on many committees and in several capacities. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandson, Max.
Friends may join the family to honor Louise’s life and legacy at Smith Funeral & Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown on Sunday, September 1st from 1-3 & 6-8 PM and again on Monday, September 2nd from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM with Chaplain Craig Falkenstine. She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff of Sundale Nursing Home and WV Caring Hospice for the love and care that they gave not only to Louise, but to her daughter Lori and her family throughout her stay and final days there.
