Doris Louise Tate Douton Obituary (1928

Doris Louise 'Dot' Douton, 87 of Cheat Lake, formerly of Philippi, WV and the Waterford, CT area,, passed away early Friday evening, March 25, 2016 at the residence of her daughter in Cheat Lake with whom she shared her home.She was born July 9, 1928 in New London, CT, a daughter of the late John Tate and the late Doris Kershaw Tate.Survivors include four children, Calvin Dayton and his wife Irene of Connecticut, Barbara Hollinquest of Texas, Elizabeth 'Betsy' Ritter and her husband Carl of New Orleans, LA and Doris Louise 'Dot' Compton of Cheat Lake; 19 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Noreen Wyatt of Connecticut; as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three children, Sandra DiCecca, Kathleen Silman and William Dayton.Dot worked all of her life. She worked as a nurse's aide at Waterford Nursing Home and cared for her father until he passed away at the age of 98. She was an animal lover who raised horses and taught riding lessons.
