Margaret 'Anne' Wood Obituary (1944

Margaret Anne McCord Wood, age 73 of Morgantown, passed away peacefully on Friday morning, October 20, 2017 at her residence. She was born January 17, 1944 in Morgantown, a daughter of Hazel Slawter McCord who survives her, and the late Harold Bud McCord. Survivors include three children, Douglas Wood, Lucinda Higgins (Mike), and Rodney Wood (Tonya) all of Waynesburg, PA; five grandchildren, Michael, Megan, Jordan, Alexandra and Emily; two siblings, Pat Utt (Hutch) of Austin, TX and Lauren Adams (Danny) of Morgantown; her former husband Isaac R. Wood of Waynesburg, PA, as well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Rebecca Wood Harvey; one brother, Michael McCord; and a sister Carol Jones. Anne was a 1961 graduate of Clay-Battelle High School. She was a diehard WVU and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. She enjoyed cooking, baking, studying astrology, gardening and was constantly reading. Friends may join the family to honor Annes life and legacy at Smith Funeral Cremation Care, 108 Holland Ave., Morgantown on Monday, Oct. 23rd from 2:00 PM until the time of the funeral service at 3:00 PM with Pastor Matt Lowe officiating.
