Henry “Duke” Towns Obituary (1946

Henry "Duke" Towns, 77, of Daybrook, passed away Saturday, August 19th, 2023 at his home. Duke was born on May 7, 1946 in Rivesville, WV a son of the late Francis and Ethel Smith Towns. Duke is survived by his wife of nearly 59 years, Ruth Myers Towns as well as his sons, William Duke "Bud" Towns and wife, Sheila of Daybrook, WV, Waitman Duke "Boa" Towns and wife Crystal of Jakes Run, WV, and daughter Donna Darlene Eddy and husband Gary of Daybrook, WV; grandchildren Cole Towns, Corina Davis, Newt Towns, Dylan Towns, Feleena Tennant, Derek Towns, Nikita Dean, and Aaron Eddy; and several great-grandchildren; and siblings Fay Towns and Johnny Towns. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by several siblings. Duke was employed at Consol's Loveridge mine as a mining operator, and in other capacities as well. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and greatly enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a blessed husband, and dearly loved father and grandfather who will be missed beyond measure. A private family gathering in memory of Duke will be held at a later date. At his request, Duke has been cremated.
