Thomas Allen McNeely of Morgantown passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 30, 2020, at home surrounded by his wife and two children. He was 72 years old.

He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Kay (Adkins) McNeely; his son, Timothy Allen McNeely and daughter-in-law, Sarah Elizabeth (Cann) McNeely of Bridgeport; his daughter, Jessica Erin (McNeely) Humphreys and a son-in-law, Archie Neil Humphreys of Morgantown; and grandchildren that he adored dearly, Griffin Connor McNeely, Kendell Turman McNeely, Isabel Gray Cann, Arlie Grace Humphreys, and Bo Allen Humphreys. He is also survived by his sister, Melinda Jane (McNeely) Gullett and brother-in-law, Allen Gullett; and many loving nieces and nephews.

Tom was born on October 7, 1947, in Logan, WV. He was the son of and preceded in death by Millard Lonzo McNeely and Freda Mae (Hale / Steele) McNeely. Tom was also preceded in death by two infant sisters.

He graduated from Logan High School in 1965. Tom married the love of his life, Linda Kay, in April 1966. They were forever sweethearts and renewed their vowels in Hawaii in 2003.

Tom attended both West Virginia University and Marshall University before eventually graduating from the WVU School of Pharmacy in 1975. Tom began his pharmacy career in Cabell County before moving his family back to his hometown of Logan where he was a beloved pharmacist throughout Logan County for many years.

Tom was very active in youth sports in the Logan area and helped coach various teams in the 70's and 80's. Tom loved sports and he loved the WVU Mountaineers. He was a season ticket holder for both WVU football and basketball for almost 40 years.

Tom loved Morgantown as well and he began the second half of his pharmacy career at WVU Hospitals / Ruby Memorial in 1992. He was a pharmacist with WVU Hospitals until he retired in 2014.

Tom was a Christian and a member of Christian Missionary Alliance Church for the last 28 years.

Anybody who knew Tom whether from his church, his work at the pharmacy, or in his Suncrest community, knew what a sweet man he was.

Friends may join Tom's family to honor his life and legacy at the Morgantown Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, 308 Elmhurst St., Morgantown on Monday, August 3rd from 11:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 PM co-officiated by Pastor Roy Baker and Reverend Glen Johnson. Private interment for the immediate family only will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
Face masks must be worn, and all social distancing guidelines must be followed if attending the visitation or funeral service.
